If you have or have not been to Walt Disney World then Visit Walt Disney World is the site for you. As you read on, you will find exciting information about the Walt Disney World resort, from which resorts will suit your needs to what time of year is the best time to visit the resort area.
Now I know what you’re probably looking for is a Disney vacation right for us? Well as you read on, we hope we will be able to help you with your question. Whether you’re a family with kids or a couple just looking to get away, Disney World has something to fit your dream vacation. From their relaxing themed resorts to their fine dining experience, you won’t be disappointed with any decision you make.
Disney World consists of 4 theme parks. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The first park to open at Disney World was Magic Kingdom, it is home to attractions such as Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and the ever popular Pirates of the Caribbean. Coupled with daily live shows and parades (weather permitting) this is a sure hit for youngsters. The second park to open was the Experimental Prototype of the community of tomorrow or what is now known as Epcot. Epcot boasts more educational themed attractions like Spaceship Earth and Living Seas. Don’t worry, Epcot has its share of thrill rides too with Test Track and Mission Space. Not quite your speed, then you can slow down by traveling around the world in The World Showcase, visiting places like Mexico, France, Germany and more. Stop and have dinner or grab a drink and continue traveling the world. The third park added to the Disney World area was Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Hollywood Studios). From a backstage tour to live stage shows like Indiana Jones and Beauty and the Beast, this park is a movie buff’s dream. Featuring street performers and an old Hollywood feel, along with unmissable attractions like Aerosmith’s Rockin’ Roller Coaster and the Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror. It will be impossible to turn your fan away from here, no problem, there is still the popular Fantasmic night show, which mixes water, fire, laser lights, fireworks and your favorite Disney characters not to be missed. (Again this is a weather permitting event) The 4th and final park (so far) is Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This park hosts many different types of animals to keep you always attentive to them. Whether you walk along the trails throughout the park or on the Kilamanjaro Safari, you’ll be sure to see animals you’d never have the chance to. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Yeti on Expedition Everest or go back in time to Dinosuar. Visit the Tree of Life and come out for a tutorial from Flick and his friends in It’s Tough to be a bug.
For the fish in the Disney family there are also two water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both will help keep you cool in the hot summer heat. Blizzard Beach is home to one of the tallest water slides. The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is sure to literally knock you off your feet.
Walt Disney World is home to over two dozen resorts and over 25,000 rooms on Disney Property. During your stay at one of these unique resorts, you’ll be entitled to certain Disney ‘magic’ benefits. Some of the inclusions are transportation to and from Orlando Int. airport via Disney’s Magical Express. Transportation around the Walt Disney World complex by rail, bus, boat. So staying in the ‘World’ is easy and stress-free. You can also take advantage of Extra Magic Hours or EMH for short. This is when a select park opens earlier or closes later only for guests staying at an on-property resort. Each Disney resort has a specific theme from sports to a Caribbean island theme. They are 4 resort levels and are as follows:
Value: Affordable. Great for first timers with kids. Considering that most of your time will be in the parks. Moderate: mid-priced. Great for honeymooners, couples visiting without children. Families with older children. Less bright and less bold, more subtle theme. Deluxe: Expensive. These resorts have larger rooms. The most beautiful themed pools. Most have nicer restaurants. Luxury villas: Very expensive. The villas are studios, 1 or 2 bedrooms with full kitchens, dishwashers, living rooms, larger bathrooms. Great for large families or those who would rather enjoy some time away from home with all the comforts of home.
Now to one of the most debated decisions about planning a Disney vacation, when to go. It depends a lot on individuals. For example, do you mind the hot weather, or do you want low crowd volumes. Now from our past visits, timing is everything, but that doesn’t mean it’s always the right call. Usually the weather in late September to mid-November is the best. It means days between 70 and 80 degrees. Mostly always sunny with some rain. Well last year the temperature aver. outside at 92 degrees. for 14 days. See what I mean just because you expect something doesn’t mean you’re going to get it. Anyway January – mid-February cooler temperatures, park crowds and low-end hotels – trendy frequency. mid-February – Mid-May warming trend in temperatures, park and hotel crowds will change from moderate to high. Due to spring break, teacher conferences and the Easter holiday. May – September Warm to hot temperatures. Crowds at parks and hotels will be high at this time of year. If you plan to stay this time of year, plan ahead and book early. September – January this time of year is when we like to visit. From our 9 visits so far, we have found the temps tolerable along with the crowd level at the park and hotel. But this time of year there are many events happening around certain parks that will affect hotel and park levels. Check out my updated blogs for updated information. If you can go late September – mid November, that would be my choice. You will have a better time with the favorable weather along with all the additional events around that time.
